\"sky2\"<\/a>Hey! Wake Up! Jesus is actually coming back!<\/em><\/p>\n

I remember the days when a month could hardly go by without a message about the Rapture and the 2nd coming of the Lord. The consciousness of the imminence of His return was popular and palpable. Believers lived wth an expectation of the Lord’s return. Funny and overboard as it may sound, I actually remember instances where people were scared the Rapture had taken place just for the fact that some respected believers skipped a meeting or were delayed keeping an appointment. It was that serious.<\/em><\/p>\n

Do you remember how it used to be? You know what I mean, there was a conscious expectation of the Lord\u2019s coming in the air.<\/em>
\n<\/em><\/p>\n

Well, time has indeed changed and so called \u2018knowledge\u2019 has increased, The world is changed , comfort levels have changed, huge strides have been made in the world of science and medicine, the world has \u2018shrunk\u2019 seemingly due to advancement in communication and Technology. Societies, cultures, our ways of life, definitions of morals and family principles have changed and somehow it seems the focus of our Christian messages has also changed along with the world.<\/em><\/p>\n

In the midst of all these changes and as a new generation emerge; we must remember we have a baseline, a reference point, the source of truth, which is the everlasting and immovable word of God.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0I am so grateful that God does not change with time. He himself declared in Malachi 3:6 \u2018I am the Lord, I change not\u2019, and mind you \u2018that is why you sons of Jacob are not consumed\u2019.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0Human beings do change with time. The most respected of preachers say things and sometimes come back refuting things they claimed were true. Leaders, Organizations and countries do change their policies over time. Surely it is comforting to know that in the midst of all these uncertainties, we have a God who does not change. We have His word to return to in times of chaos and confusion.<\/em><\/p>\n

I have been thinking about recent events in the world and how day in day out astounding news of evil hit us from the airwaves. Though not new, but nonetheless striking; Terrorism, acts of violence, senseless shooting sprees, sexual profanity and unbridled immorality, corruption all over the world, and have you noticed how sex-laden our commercials have become these days? \u2013 Without any considerations for the kids and under-aged, sexual scenes are broadcast in broad daylight when the kids are watching; it all speaks to the moral decadence of our society today. I wonder what will be ten years from now.<\/em><\/p>\n

In the last days\u2019 perilous times shall come\u2019. <\/em><\/p>\n

\u25c4<\/a> 2 Timothy 3 \u25ba<\/a><\/em><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
New International Version<\/em>1<\/a>But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2<\/a>People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3<\/a>without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4<\/a>treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God\u2014 5<\/a>having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.<\/em><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

It dawned on me, the word of God says, \u2018He will come like a thief in the night\u2019. When no one is expecting.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u25c4<\/a> 1 Thessalonians 5 \u25ba<\/a><\/em><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
New International Version<\/em>The Day of the Lord<\/em>1<\/a>Now, brothers and sisters, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, 2<\/a>for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3<\/a>While people are saying, \u201cPeace and safety,\u201d destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.<\/em><\/p>\n

4<\/a>But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. 5<\/a>You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. 6<\/a>So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober. 7<\/a>For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night. 8<\/a>But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. 9<\/a>For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. 10<\/a>He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. 11<\/a>Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.<\/em><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 The word of God has not changed. There is a certain \u2018day\u2019 of the Lord that is coming and our consciousness of His return should be awakened. \u2019He that hath ears, let him hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying\u2019. Selah<\/em><\/p>\n
