Whatever the situation you find yourself going through, possibly something similar to what the new couple in John 2:1-10 was experiencing, they were running short of wine for their guests. Maybe you are running short of one thing or the other at the moment; provision, resources, morale whatever it is, I want you to know that the story does not end there.
Fortunately for the couple they had invited Jesus’s mother, Jesus and the disciples to the party. What a blessing to have Jesus on board with you when the wind of life is blowing against you! It makes all the difference to have Jesus on your side. Jesus’s mother called Jesus into the situation and instructed the servants, ‘whatever he tells you to do, do it’. She stood in as the needed intercessor and counsellor at this moment. We need such in our lives.
After all said and done, Jesus turned water into wine for the occasion to go on and prevented the couple from experiencing any shame or embarrassment. Child of God, Jesus is on your side and you can trust Him to deliver you from shame and embarrassment. I love the way the story ended, the Master of ceremony, having tasted the new wine called the bridegroom and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.”
That is the conclusion, it always gets better with Jesus. The path of the just shines brighter and brighter till the full light of day.
